Experience includes substation design, SCADA, system operations (line and substation), transmission and distribution design, system planning and load/motor studies. Experience at SGS Engineering includes transmission switching stations and distribution substation layout and design, specifying all construction and major material/equipment, and simple relay protection schemes. Sarkis has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State University, graduating in 1989 with an emphasis in the power industry and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and New Mexico.

Mike Smith

40+ years of experience - Multiple planning studies for short range (2-5 years) and long range (10- 35 years), overcurrent protection studies (sectionalizing studies), loss studies, Arc Flash studies, motor start analyses and flicker studies. These studies have been done for Electric Cooperatives, Municipalities, National Laboratories, Oil Companies, and Wind Turbine developers. Mike is presently in charge of the planning department at SGS Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and California.
